Materials used in our sealing profiles

EPDM and NBR-rubber

EPDM is widely tested and well known raw material from which we have very good experiences through years. EPDM is the most common rw material on sealing profiles. Also massive profiles can be made from EPDM. Colour of EPDM is black. It’s possible to manufacture 2-component profiles from EPDM.

TPE

Thermoplastic elastomer which is recyclable raw material. Tightening of enviromental regulations have dramatically increased the use of recyclable materials such as TPE. TPE can be coloured easily and all of the RAL-colour codes can be applied to it. Thermoplastic elastomers are highly resistant to chemicals and weather strains (cold resistance -50 degrees and heat resistance +120 degrees). TPE is excellent material for multicomponent profiles.

Silicon rubber

The properties of silicone rubber are unrivalled. It withstand frost down to -50 degrees without stiffening and heat up to +300 degrees. Silicone is the most expensive material.

Materials for fire qualified targets (flame retardant)

Fire qualified fire doors and ships needs a special materials. General classification is UL-94, V0. There’s some special materials available from TPE and silicone with such classifications.
